One of the most anticipated moments for IPL fans was to see Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya playing for the same franchise after all the rivalry they had in the past. While many speculated silence between Hooda and Krunal in the LSG camp, it has gone the other way around so far with both cricketers hugging each other on the field and enjoying each other’s success. They have played a big part so far in the successful start to the IPL 2022 campaign for Lucknow Super Giants.
During the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last year, Krunal captained the Baroda side and Hooda was part of the squad. Hooda had come out of the bio bubble stating Krunal was trying to pull him down and mentioned that the skipper had warned the latter of ensuring that he won’t play again for Baroda. Hooda subsequently moved to Rajasthan for the next domestic season.
We are playing with one aim, which is to win games for LSG: Deepak Hooda
On his relationship with Krunal so far, Deepak Hooda mentioned that the former is like a brother to him and wanted the past to be seen as a brother’s fight. He added that the ultimate aim is to win games for his franchise Lucknow Super Giants. Hooda has been the man in form for LSG so far with handy knocks in all three games and he will be hoping to continue the good run with the bat. He also explained how the duo met in the team hotel forgetting their past fights.
“Krunal Pandya is like my brother, and brothers do fight. We are playing with one aim, which is to win games for LSG,” Deepak Hooda told Dainik Jagran in an interview. “I was not watching the IPL auction. We met just like the other players at the team hotel. Whatever happened is in the past, and as I said, we both are playing for the same team and our goals, too, are the same,” Hooda added.
