The game of cricket has seen a number of real-life brothers featuring in the same team internationally. Andy Flower-Grant Flower, Hamish Marshall-James Marshall, Shaun Marsh-Mitchell Marsh, Yusuf Pathan-Irfan Pathan, are some of the few which comes to the mind.
It is only a matter of time when we would be able to see another real-life pair of brothers feature in the Indian team by the names of Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya. The two already represent three-time IPL winning side Mumbai Indians.
The elder brother recently took to Twitter to appreciate the herculean hand his younger brother played in India’s 4-1 victory over the Australians. Krunal also revealed that prior to the start of the series Hardik claimed he would own the series and on the basis of his performances in the last five ODIs, it can safely be said that the latter stood by his words.
“Just before the #INDvAUS series, @hardikpandya7 told me he will set the stage on fire & today I can proudly say, “you did it… and how!”?? captioned Krunal Pandya in his latest Tweet along with a picture of Hardik holding four trophies he accumulated in the series- two man of the match award and one man of the series award and the PayTM winners trophy.
Hardik Pandya was adjudged as the man of the match in the Chennai and Indore game. He changed the course of the game and the series with his knock of 83 off 66 balls. The Baroda-lad also went on to score a finishing knock of 79 at the Indore game to seal the series for India.
Hardik also went on to claim 6 wickets in the series at an economy of 6.06 apart from the 222 runs he amassed in the four innings he played at a strike rate of 108. When we look back at the career of Hardik Pandya in the year to come, this series would be termed as the watershed moment of his career.
