Krunal Pandya wins Lala Amarnath Trophy for the 2016-17 season

Krunal Pandya, without question is one of the most important players in the Mumbai Indians side. Such is his importance that he is used for his finishing skills with the bat towards the end of the innings while his ability to bowl his wily left-arm spin is indeed something that many a bowler exploits.

In recent times, the older of the Pandya brothers has seen himself as a strong contender for the selection in the Indian team. Of course, his performances in the Indian Premier League have been a rather strong indication of his abilities, but the very fact that he is one of the few all-rounders present within the country and the kind of performances he puts up, especially in the shorter formats of the game have been quite impressive, to say the least.

However, in spite of not being one of the selected few in the side, he has been quite impressive in the domestic circuit. His fantastic run of form with both bat and ball has been something amazing for Baroda’s successful season in the Ranji Trophy. This has seen him become the recepient of the prestigious Lala Amarnath Award for the year 2016-17.

This award comes following some amazing outings for his side in the Domestic format as the award is given to cricketers who have indeed performed in the domestic limited-overs’ circuit well. In addition, Parvez Rasool picked up the Lala Amarnath Award for best all-rounder in the Ranji Trophy.

Krunal was seemingly more than happy to have his brother collect the award on his behalf. His tweet read: “Belief and Hardwork! Delighted to receive the Lala Amaranth award for the 16-17 season.
