Kuldeep Yadav aims county cricket after Sussex offer
According to the Uttar Pradesh bowler, English County Club Sussex have approached him to acquire his services.
After the master of the carrom ball, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav might become the second Indian spinner to play cricket in England. The Chinaman might try his hands out in county cricket if the busy Indian schedule allows him some space. According to the Uttar Pradesh bowler, English County Club Sussex have approached him to acquire his services. However, Kuldeep has kept them on a pause because he has a tight schedule representing the national team.
Ravichandran Ashwin joined Worcestershire earlier this year in his effort to get familiar with conditions outside the country. The experienced bowler has also been left out of the first 3 ODIs against Australia in order to provide him time for honing his skills. Ravichandran Ashwin has already represented Worcestershire in two first-class games this season.
What Kuldeep Yadav had to say:
Speaking of playing county cricket to Indian Express, Kuldeep Yadav said “Definitely, I would play county cricket. Actually, I got an offer from Sussex recently but I could not get time from my schedule so I could not go there. But, definitely I will go and play county cricket in the future,”.
Indian Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara has also had county experience playing for Nottinghamshire. Pujara was an integral part of the team in the previous season.
However, India’s schedule for the next few months is immensely hectic with 3 teams visiting the country in a span of 4 months. To add to the international fixtures, the Ranji Trophy starts from October 6th which leave Kuldeep Yadav with no choice but to let go of county cricket this year. India are set to play Australia in a five-match ODI series beginning Sunday in Chennai followed by a three-match T20I series.
New Zealand will visit India for a three-match ODI and three-match T20I in October which will be followed by India hosting Sri Lanka for a full series in November and December.
