Yesterday’s match between India and Afghanistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium turned out to be a memorable one for Indian captain, MS Dhoni, as he captained the Indian team after 696 days. Moreover, it was also his 200th match as the ODI skipper. However, the match didn’t turn out the way the Jharkhand-born cricketer would’ve expected it to be.
He was trapped in front by part-time off-break bowler Javed Ahmadi and could only score eight runs from 17 balls. Nevertheless, he was unlucky to be adjudged Leg Before Wicket (LBW) for the reason that the ball would’ve comfortably missed the stumps. At that point in time, India had also lost their Decision Review System (DRS), which was used up by KL Rahul.
MS Dhoni loses his cool
Moreover, the Men in Blue also weren’t able to turn Afghanistan over and the encounter turned out to be a tie. The intense situation also got the better of Dhoni to some extent. Dinesh Karthik got a scolding from Dhoni after he conceded an overthrow. Moreover, Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav got a mouthful from the 37-year-old experienced campaigner.
When Afghanistan were batting, Kuldeep urged Dhoni for a field change, which didn’t please Dhoni by any stretch of the imagination. Having got a tad agitated, Dhoni said, “Bowling karega ya bowler change karein?” (Would you return to bowling or should we change the bowler).

Kuldeep had an impressive day with the leather having finished with figures of 10-0-38-2. He dismissed Hashmatullah Shahidi with a delivery, which spun away from the left-handed batsman and clattered into the stumps. In the very next delivery, he accounted for the wicket of Asghar Afghan for a golden duck.
He churned out a loopy delivery and the batsman played all around it only to see his woodwork rattled. The youngster would now be expected to weave his magic in the final against the winner of the match today between Bangladesh and Pakistan at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
