The second match of the Indian Premier League 2022 took place between Delhi Capitals and five-time champions Mumbai Indians. Delhi emerged victorious in the game by four wickets and if there was one player whose roaring comeback was lauded by all, it was Indian wrist-spinner, Kuldeep Yadav. Yadav kept the horrors of the past at the side to unleash his very best in DC’s campaign opener while picking three wickets, conceding just 18 runs in four overs.
In the same context, another spinner Axar Patel came up to talk about Kuldeep’s success and added that the wrist-spinner feels a sense of security in the DC camp. Yadav feels that he would get to play games, which wasn’t the case for him in the last two seasons of the IPL, reckoned Patel.
“It’s all about the mindset. He was struggling in the IPL as his place was not secured for KKR. He was not sure whether he would play all their matches,” said Axar Patel while speaking after the DC vs MI match as quoted by India Today.

“But he feels that surety of playing matches after coming over here. If you know your place is secured, and not that you have to perform in two matches otherwise you will be sacked from the team, then you can give your best,” he added.
It is important to note that Kuldeep Yadav didn’t have times to remember for the last two seasons as he didn’t get even a single game in 2021 for KKR and injury eventually forced him out. On the other hand, in IPL 2020, he got the ball in hand for just five games and Varun Chakravarthy got preferred over him in KKR’s scheme of things.
The UP spinner got picked in this year’s IPL mega auction by Delhi Capitals and Patel concluded by adding that Yadav is receiving all the support that he might have needed to bring out his best. Patel stated that even during nets, players and head coach Ricky Ponting boost his morale.
