Young Indian chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has made some serious progress in limited overs cricket. His good show in the IPL over the last couple of seasons fetched him a lot of admiration. Soon, he found himself in the Indian dressing room and now, is an integral part of the Indian limited overs setup. Currently, he is playing the IPL for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Recently, Kuldeep Yadav spoke at length about how he is keeping himself fit for the tournament. He noted that the IPL is a very hectic tournament and one needs to prepare a lot for the same. Interestingly, when asked if he thinks about the batsman batting against him, Kuldeep answered in negation. He noted that the batsman does not really matter to him.

However, he admitted that it is tougher to bowl to players like Virat Kohli. As per the quotes in India Today, he cited that the likes of Kohlis do not let the bowlers settle down and keep on building pressure with singles and doubles. Batsmen like Chris Gayle can be threatening too, but the ones like Kohli are tougher to bowl at, reckoned Yadav.

“It really does not affect me who is batting against me but someone like Virat is a lot more difficult to bowl at as he will not let you bowl dot balls and besides hitting you for a four or six, will take twos and threes too. This creates pressure on the bowler. No doubt Chris Gayle is an impact player and dominates every bowler. He can hit you for a six or maybe a four but can’t take singles and doubles. So there is always the option of bowling a dot ball to him and also taking a wicket,” quoted Kuldeep Yadav.

On his personal performances

Commenting on his individual performance this season, Kuldeep Yadav remarked that he is not happy with the way he has fared up in the contest thus far. He pointed out that he would have liked it even more had he scalped more wickets. He is keen on doing well in the upcoming fixtures.

“Personally, I am not that happy with myself. I wanted more wickets against my name at this stage of the tournament. But I am returning from an injury. It was difficult for me to perform straightaway after that finger injury. I feel good to get my rhythm back. Hopefully, I will do well in the coming games,” remarked the chinaman.
