Kumar Sangakkara reveals why he left out Sachin from his all time XI
Former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara recently selected his all-time XI. The most surprising element of his team was the exclusion of he omitted Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar who is widely regarded as the “God of Cricket” from his team and there was a list of fans who asked him about the same on Twitter.
Sanga included four Australians and three players from Sri Lanka but Sachin and the Australian great Glenn McGrath couldn’t find a spot in his squad. Rahul Dravid is the only Indian in the team. However, he had virtually mentioned McGrath, whom he had to choose alongside his former teammate Chaminda Vaas for the slot for the pace bowler but Sachin was completely ignored.
Kumar Sangakkara’s XI: Matthew Hayden, Rahul Dravid, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Aravinda De Silva (c), Jacques Kallis, Adam Gilchrist (wk), Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan, Wasim Akram, Chaminda Vaas.
However, the announcement raffled the fans who worship Sachin for his 24 years of contribution to the sport. The former Indian batsman is the leading run-getter in One Day International cricket and in the longest format of the game as well.
