Kyly Clarke breaks her silence two days after separation with Michael Clarke
The separation of Michael and Kyly is estimated to be worth $40 million.
Former Australia captain Michael Clarke on Wednesday split with his wife Kyly and took a big career move the very next day when he announced joining the rugby league legend Laurie Daley as a co-host of Sky Sports Radio’s ‘Big Sports Breakfast’ replacing Terry Kennedy.
As Clarke continued to hog the limelight, Kyly decided to break her silence on Friday. The 38-year-old former model was outside a gym in Sydney’s Bondi Beach where she told Daily Mail that she was doing fine after her partnership with the former cricketer concluded.
“Of course I am!” the mother of a four-year-old girl said when she was asked about coping okay with her post-separation life. The former first lady of Australian cricket was no more sporting her wedding ring as she spoke, the report added. She also said that her daughter with Michael, Kelsey Lee, was also doing “amazing”.
Kyly, however, evaded when asked whether she and her former husband would be attending the upcoming wedding of the latter’s personal assistant Sasha Amstrong. She said firmly that they said everything that they had to in their statement.
Sasha became a key figure in the couple’s lives in November 2018 when she was photographed in a bikini while sailing on a yacht with the former cricketer. Woman’s Day later reported that Kyly was not happy with the photographs. But it was found later that Sasha was set to marry her fiance Tyler Robinson in six weeks.
Clarke, who became the first Australian captain to win the World Cup at home in 2015, made his debut in 2003 and won the coveted Allan Border Medal just two years later. He was in a relationship with Lara Bingle starting 2007 after leaving a long-time partner of eight years. They also got engaged in a year but got separated in 2010.
Michael Clarke married Kyly in May 2012
In May 2012, Michael got married to Kyly, of his age, after meeting her for the first time in Westfields Sports High School near Sydney. In 2013, Michael had an ugly fight with his team-mate, Shane Watson, during the Ashes that year and even called him a “tumour”. In 2014, he broke down while recalling his late friend and team-mate Phil Hughes after the latter lost his life after being hit by a ball during a domestic game in Sydney. He bid adieu to cricket at the end of the Ashes in 2015, the same year Kelsey was born.
The separation of Michael and Kyly is estimated to be worth $40 million.
