Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder, posted a hilarious comment on one of Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) posts before the start of the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL). On Wednesday, March 24, the franchise uploaded a video where MS Dhoni unveiled the new jersey of the Super Kings on their official Instagram handle.

The new jersey has a camouflage in order to pay tribute to the Indian armed forces. The 39-year-old Dhoni is an honourary Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army. This is also the maiden instance since the inaugural edition in 2008 when the Yellow Army have changed their jersey.

The franchise captioned the picture and wrote, “Thala Dharisanam! #WearOnWhistleOn with the all-new #Yellove! #WhistlePodu.” Jadeja, who has been with the franchise for quite a few years, had a rib-tickling take on the jersey. Jadeja replied to the post and wrote, “L size for me please.”

CSK CEO KS Viswanathan opens up

“The camouflage on the shoulders is bordered with gold bands that signify the high standards set by the team both in terms of consistency and fair play – CSK won the IPL fair play award six times in 11 seasons.

The three stars denote the three IPL titles won in 2010, 2011, and 2018. Super Kings qualified for the Playoffs in ten seasons and made it to the final eight times,” CSK CEO KS Viswanathan was quoted as saying in a statement.

“It has been on our mind for some time now to find ways to raise awareness about the significant and selfless role of the armed forces. The camouflage is an appreciation of their service… they are the true heroes,” he added.

Jadeja hasn’t played any form of cricket for quite some time. He had a thumb fracture while batting during the Sydney Test against Australia. Thereafter, he went through surgery and couldn’t make the cut for the home Tests, ODIs, and T20Is against England.

On Wednesday, he shared a clip of him practising in the gym. He captioned the video and wrote, “Keep moving forward.” CSK’s opening game is against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 10 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
