There were many rumours circulating that Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen has tied the knot with businessman and former cricket administrator Lalit Modi. However, Modi clarified the same on his official Twitter handle by saying that both of them are not married and as of now are only dating each other. Meanwhile, the former Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also confirmed that their wedding will happen soon.

“Just for clarity. Not married – just dating each other. That too it will happen one day”, Lalit Modi’s caption read as he posted a few images of him and Sushmita Sen.

Earlier on Thursday, July 14, Lalit Modi had taken to his official social media handles and announced that he and the 1994 Miss Universe winner were back to London after a global tour. Nonetheless, while giving a special mention to Sushmita, Modi referred to her as his “better half'” along with adding “a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon” which led to speculations that the duo has tied the knot.

“Just back in london after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families – not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 – a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon,” Modi wrote. Meanwhile, this comes almost two years after Sen parted ways with Rohman Shawl. According to reports, Sushmita and Rohman were dating since 2018 and ended the relationship in December 2021.

Interestingly, one of Modi’s tweet from 2013 related to Sen has also resurfaced amid the recent happenings.

Lalit Modi is the mastermind of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which commenced in 2008 and has gone on to emerge as the world’s best, toughest as well as richest T20 league having successfully completed 15 editions. As a cricket administrator, Modi served as the Chairman and Commissioner of the IPL from 2008 to 2010. He then enjoyed a stint as the President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) from 2014 to 2015 (First term from 2005 to 2009). Before coming up with the concept of IPL, Modi also served as the Vice President of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) between 2004 to 2012.
