The 501 runs partnership between these two stands to be one of the best partnerships in the history of second division cricket. The Glamorgan bowlers seemed pretty much helpless in front of the pair and once they managed to set the tone on, bowlers could hardly bowl well against them. This record breaking partnership at Colwyn Bay Cricket Club Ground is perhaps one of the best in the history of the championship and with the aid of such a big partnership, Lancashire was put into a zone of comfort against Glamorgan. Lancashire was poised at the score of 698/5 when they declared their innings in the second session of the second day of the match.
