Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians are hosting English County Club Lancashire at the Reliance Corporate Park, the training ground of the franchise. The English club is in the city for a week-long, pre-season training camp in preparation for the start of the 2020 season. Lancashire arrived at the Reliance Corporate Park on Friday (February 14) and will train at the ground till February 22.
A total of 13 players are part of the visiting squad. According to Lancashire’s official website, the 13-member squad will be put through an intense training schedule, building upon the work done at Old Trafford in a warm weather climate. The squad started training for the upcoming season in November and their stay in India is the first opportunity for the players to train outdoors.
The county outfit will also take on a Reliance XI in a T20 to close the tour. A number of big names are missing from the squad. Saqib Mahmood and Matt Parkinson have missed out as they are in South Africa for the ongoing T20I series while Liam Livingstone and Dane Vilas are not involved due to Pakistan Super League commitments.
On Saturday, Lancashire’s Twitter handle posted some beautiful snaps of Reliance Corporate Park and wrote: ” Our home for the week in Mumbai. The @lancscricket squad will be based at Reliance Corporate Park, which is @mipaltan ‘s training ground during the @IPL.”
