Jasprit Bumrah is known as one of the finest bowlers in the world. He has been displaying the ability to scalp wickets for the team when the match is caught in a tight spot. However, his IPL 2020 season hasn’t been shining well so far, and he is still trying to find the rhythm. In the same light, Mumbai have been missing their all-time star bowler Lasith Malinga desperately. Rohit Sharma and his men saw the face of loss in the Super Over where Bumrah had to defend seven runs.
Firstly, Bumrah leaked 42 runs in his span of four overs and couldn’t get the game for his team in Super Over. MI fans started missing their legendary bowler Malinga and requested him on Twitter to sport the Mumbai jersey once again. Not to forget, the Lankan speedster has the highest wickets to his credit in the history of IPL. In no time, #LasithMalinga started flooding Twitter. The star pacer has 170 scalps to his name in the cash-rich league.
No wonder, the IPL is known as the most fascinating league in the world as it has been into just ten games and the world witnessed the second Super Over already. In the face-off between Mumbai and Bangalore, the latter posted a good 201/3 on board on the back of great hitting by their batsmen. Their side saw three terrific fifties in form of Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch, and AB de Villiers. Shivam Dube’s quickfire of 27, in the end, helped his side to breach the 200-run mark.
Though Mumbai’s opening stand seemed below average, what followed next was one thriller of an event. Ishan Kishan’s 99 of 58 and Kieron Pollard’s 60* off 24 helped Mumbai to push all the limits and got them closest to the victory, but the match had Super Over, written in fate.
In the Super Over that followed, Navdeep Saini showed some world-class bowling to restrict opponents on just seven runs. In return, Kohli and AB de Villiers got home an easy victory where star bowler Jasprit Bumrah couldn’t save runs for the team. However, Virat Kohli is yet to show up good form with the bat in this league.
