The start of day 4 at the SCG was majorly interrupted by rain and bad light. With only 25 odd overs bowled during the day, there wasn’t much to look out for. India ended up containing Australia for 300 after the tailenders extended their stay at the crease. The visitors, unlike last time, decided to enforce the follow-on with less time left.
However, four overs into the innings, bad light again stopped play. An early tea was taken and the game never resumed after that. If weather permits, Australia will have to bat one whole day tomorrow to save the Test match. On the other hand, India will be looking towards a 3-1 victory Down Under. In spite of a dull day, the visitors had their own reasons to celebrate.
Kuldeep Yadav went on to register his first ever five-wicket haul in overseas Tests. The chinaman bowler bamboozled the Australian batting lineup with his variations. While he ripped apart the batting order yesterday with three wickets, today he trapped both Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazelwood in front of the stumps.
Learning from Warne has made my job easier
Legendary spinner Shane Warne was quite impressed with Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling performance. The spin wizard took on to Twitter in order to congratulate the tweaker. Moreover, he also wrote that he relished working with Kuldeep. Both had been acquainted with each other during the IPL as well. “Well bowled & congrats on your 5 wicket haul @imkuldeep18 also, thank you for your very kind words – it’s been a pleasure to work with you & watch you bowl my friend !” Warne wrote in his tweet.
The wrist spinner, who idolises Warne, was seen spending some time in the nets on Day 3 with him. Kuldeep was absolutely delighted by Warne’s comments and looked forward to his advices in the future as well. “Means the most coming from you boss! Learning from you has made my job easier. Looking forward to all the advice and guidance in the days to come!” Kuldeep replied.
