Team India might be playing Bangladesh in the only Test in Hyderabad at the moment but looking at the broader picture their immediate target will be to prepare themselves for the much sterner test against the might Australians with the 4 match Test series scheduled to begin from 23rd February.

Australia boasts of some serious names in their squad and the form of Mitchell Starc will be very crucial to their chances in the series. Despite Australia’s lacklustre performance in Asia of late, Starc has bowled with venom and immaculate control almost everywhere in the world and the Indians will be wary of the left-arm quickie.

To negate the Starc effect, India has roped in the services of left-arm fast bowler Aniket Choudhary who was also included in the India A squad for the warm-up match against Bangladesh. The youngster bagged 4 wickets.

The lanky left-armer has the ability to produce that steep bounce which can unravel any batsmen. He can move the ball away from the batsman and creates a beautiful angle in the nets which has prompted his call-up. He was also in the national nets during New Zealand tour of India last year.

Australia, on the other hand, will be looking to turn their fortunes around after getting a 4-0 thrashing on their previous tour in 2013. Australia’s horrendous run in the subcontinent will surely be a worrying factor for them but Steve Smith and his men will look to put their failures behind them and come out all guns blazing.

The Australian squad is currently in Dubai to get used to subcontinental conditions. They are up for the challenge this time around and we might be in for a much tougher test than New Zealand or England.

The Test against Bangladesh will provide India with the ideal match practice ahead of the much-anticipated series. Virat Kohli will look to continue his dream run as a captain and given the Indian squad, it won’t be a surprise if they go on to whitewash Australia yet again.
