Legends League Cricket 2022: Imran Tahir to miss remainder of tournament to take part in PSL 2022

Spinner Imran Tahir, who is a part of the World Giants side in the Legends League Cricket (LLC) is set to miss the remainder of the tournament as he will go to Pakistan to take part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The PLS is scheduled to begin on 27th January 2022 and will conclude on 27th February 2022. Tahir will render his services for the Multan Sultans side. The Multan Sultans will play their opening match of the tournament on 27th January 2022, against the Karachi Kings in Karachi.

Imran Tahir has featured in 27 matches in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in his career and has scalped 37 wickets at an average of 17.48.

Imran Tahir played a key role in helping World Giants defeat India Maharajas

Imran Tahir played a pivotal role with the willow for the World Giants side in their battle against the India Maharajas. The Maharajas had batted first and posted a gargantuan total of 209/3 on the board. Naman Ojha took the World Giants’ bowlers to the cleaners and creamed a 69-ball 140 at the top of the order.

Apart from Ojha, skipper Mohammad Kaif also chipped in with a handy contribution of 53* off 47 deliveries. In reply, even though Kevin Pietersen gave the World Giants a blazing start by scoring a whirlwind 53 off 27 deliveries at the top of the order, the Giants kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

But then, Imran Tahir stood up for his side and scored a blazing 52* off just 19 deliveries to steer his side to a sensational 3-wicket victory. Tahir’s stupendous knock was studded with 3 fours and 5 sixes.

Imran Tahir has featured in 20 Tests, 107 ODIs, and 38 T20Is for the South African side. While he has scalped 57 wickets in the whites, Tahir has gobbled up 173 batters in the ODI format of the game. In T20I cricket, the right arm leg spinner has taken 63 wickets at an average of just 15.05. He has taken a total of 7 five-wicket hauls in his international career.
