As India prepares for the T20 World Cup 2021, people can’t help but recall the last time when they won the tournament. It was way back in 2007, when MS Dhoni, who still had long hair, led a bunch of players who were going to become legends of the game in the years to come. In 2021, only one of those 15 men who lifted the trophy in Johannesburg, stands a chance to lift it again.

14 years since that teenager smashed South Africa and then Pakistan in the final, Rohit Sharma in his immaculate maturity will once again get a chance to be part of the T20 World Champions team. On the 14th anniversary of that triumph, the Mumbai batter shared a post. He also shared a beautiful caption with it.

Let’s win it together and make history again: Suryakumar Yadav

“Sep 24th, 2007, Johannesburg. The day when a billion dreams came true. Who would have thought back then that a relatively inexperienced, young team like ours would end up creating history!! It’s been 14 years since, we’ve come a long way, we’ve created many more histories, we’ve had our setbacks, we struggled, but it didn’t break our spirits. Because we never give up. We give it all!!! This @icc #T20WorldCup each one of us is going to give everything to repeat history. We’re coming for it. India, let’s make it happen. I am #InItToWinIt,” Rohit wrote on Instagram.

The post became an instant hit among fans. However, it was one comment which caught the attention of everyone. Rohit’s Mumbai Indians and now national side teammate, Suryakumar Yadav dropped a comment. He wrote, “Can’t wait to smash the balls out of the stadium with you @rohitsharma45 bhai. Let’s win it together and make history again.”

Suryakumar Yadav is an integral part of India’s plans in the T20 World Cup 2021. He is one of the batters who has worked his way up through promising seasons of the IPL and later, proving his performance in T20Is for India. He is expected to bat at no. 3 or no. 4 while Rohit is going to open for the Indian team. India will open their campaign against Pakistan in Dubai on October 24.
