However, the 28-year old Lynn returned to cricket through the Indian Premier League where playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders who made the highest bid for the batsman during the IPL auction.

Lynn became the most expensive Aussie in the Indian Premier League. Limited fielding capacity

The right-handed batter will be visiting a specialist upon his return to Australia for the troubled shoulder. Lynn has been advised to not make diving attempts on the field or throw a long-ball as he has injured both his shoulders in the recent past. After the assessment of the specialist team, the future of the Aussie will be declared.

Lynn made his One-day international debut against Pakistan which turned out his only 50-over appearance in the Aussie colour. He has represented Australia in 10 T20 international games. As the KKR look to qualify for the playoffs in the IPL, the big-hitter would be hoping to pile plenty of runs before he returns to his country for the shoulder treatment.

In the absence of banned Steve Smith, Tim Paine will be captaining the ODI side while Aaron Finch will be taking the responsibility of leading the team in the T20 format.
