The Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held from October 18 to November 15 in Australia. Recently, Cricket Australia and ICC insisted that the tournament is set to be held as scheduled. However, they would have little option if the pandemic situation does not improve. A total of 16 teams are set to be participating in the much-awaited tournament.

Before the main event, a total of eight teams will play a qualifying stage. Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Namibia, Scotland and Oman, who made the cut for the tournament after finishing in the top six of the qualifiers, along with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, will contest in the qualifying stage of the T20 World Cup.

The top four from that will progress to join the top-eight teams to contest in the Super12s stage, where the teams have been split into two groups.
