Almost single handedly carrying the Sunrisers batting on his shoulders Warner racked up a total of 562 runs in the eighth edition. Averaging an impressive 43 he made these runs at an amazing strike rate of 156.54. This is some achievement considering the Sunrisers played only 14 games. Credit is also due since the runs do not include a single century but are a combination of crucial match winning knocks. The most impressive aspect was his consistency, a skill normally not associated with the pocket size dynamo. Virat Kohli, IPL 9: Virat Kohli. He amassed 973 runs in 16 matches at an average of 81.08 and a strike rate of 152.03. Virat hit 38 sixes in the tournament, the most by any batsman in the 9th edition and in a single edition of the league. He also hit 83 boundaries in the season, the second most after David Warner’s tally of 88 fours. The highlight of the season for Kohli was that he hit 4 centuries in the season, two coming against the Gujarat Lions. Kohli was the undisputed king with the bat in the 9th edition of the IPL.
