Shreyas Iyer became the talk of the town after smashing a fantastic hundred on his Test debut against New Zealand. Coming to bat at number five at the Green Park in Kanpur, the right-handed batter showcased great application and became the 16th Indian to reach the three-figure mark in his maiden Test match. Overall, the 26-year-old slammed 105 runs, helping India post 345 while batting first in the opening Test.

While Iyer showcased his batting blitzes in Kanpur, Rohit Sharma highlighted his dancing skills in his latest Instagram post. The veteran opener, who has been given a rest from the ongoing series, shared a clip of him shaking legs alongside Iyer and pacer Shardul Thakur. The trio grooved to famous track ‘Cham Cham Nachdi Phiran,’ which is being used a lot to make Instagram reels nowadays.

The focus is on Iyer in the clip with Rohit and Shardul being in the background. As Iyer’s dancing skills are known by one and all, he timed his steps to perfection while the other two also did a commendable job. “Well done @shreyas41 making all the right moves,” Rohit captioned the clip, referring to Iyer’s impressive century.

Needless to mention, the comment section got flooded in no time as fans were delighted seeing their favourite cricketers having some fun. Rohit’s wife Ritika Sajdeh also dropped her views, commenting: Little twinkle toes @rohitsharma45 @shreyas41 @shardul_thakur, lauding the footwork shown by the trio.

Coming of the proceedings of the ongoing Test, India opted to field after winning the toss in Kanpur. While opener Shubman Gill slammed a brilliant half-century, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara and stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane couldn’t convert their start into massive scores. Nevertheless, Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja joined forces and kept the Kiwis on the back foot.

Besides Iyer’s ton, Jadeja scored a half-century as the hosts advanced to 345. However, New Zealand openers Tom Latham and Will Young embraced the challenge brilliantly and added 129 runs for the first wicket. Hence,  the game is somewhat poised at stumps on Day 2 and it would be interesting to see how the remaining contest pans out.
