Preview
Abu Dhabi will lock horns with Sharjah in the 17th match of the Emirates D10 2023 at the Malek Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on May 26. Abu Dhabi have played five, won four, and are positioned second in the standings. Sharjah, on the other hand, have been able to win one of their four matches and are sixth in the rankings.
Abu Dhabi had played against Dubai in their last encounter, where Dubai won the toss and elected to bowl. Being put to bat first, Abu Dhabi lost a wicket early in the first over, but owing to a fantastic second wicket partnership of 111 runs, they were not just back on track but also looked good to win the match. They scored runs at a rapid pace and hence could post 137 runs for the loss of just two wickets. Dubai had a rapid start but lost two wickets in quick succession, the recovery from which took some time, and that is where they lost the match. They could ultimately reach 128 runs and lost the match by nine runs.
Sharjah had played against Emirates Blues in their last encounter, where Sharjah won the toss and elected to bat. Sharjah started decently at an average run rate, but then they lost a few wickets in quick succession. The scoring rate further went down after that, and runs were scarcely coming. By the end of the first innings, they could only manage to post 87 runs at the expense of five wickets. Blues, when chasing, looked absolutely flawless, especially with their opener Alishan Sharafu scoring 63 runs off 28 balls. They chased down the target with almost three overs to go and won the match easily by 10 wickets.
