Afghanistan (AFG) will take on Pakistan (PAK) in the first T20I at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah on Friday, March 24. Afghanistan beat United Arab Emirates in their most recent away T20I series 2-1. The veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi returns to the squad but Rahmat Shah is dropped from the T20I team after failing to impress on UAE tour.
Pakistan return to T20I cricket for the first time since a heartbreaking defeat in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in November last year. They lost against new Zealand 1-2 at home in their most recent ODIs in January but enter this series as favorites with three wins from three T20Is against Afghanistan. Captain Babar Khan and few other senior figures are missing the series due to workload management.
