Preview
Asia Lions will lock horns with India Maharajas in the 4th match of the Legends League Cricket at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on March 14. Asia Lions have won both their games so far and are sitting at the top of the table. On the other hand, India Maharajas have also played two matches and lost both of them. They are languishing at the bottom of the table.
Asia Lions' previous game against the World Giants was reduced to ten overs per side due to rain. The Giants won the toss and elected to bowl. The Lions scored 99 runs for the loss of three wickets in ten overs with the help of a blistering knock of 44 runs off just 19 deliveries from Misbah ul Haq. In reply, the Giants got a good start as the Caribbean duo of Lendl Simmons, and Chris Gayle added 40 runs for the first wicket. However, the chase was completely derailed after Shahid Afridi dismissed both of them in the fifth over. No other batter managed to make a double-digit score, and the Giants lost the game by 35 runs.
India Maharajas squared off against World Giants in their last match, where World Giants won the toss and elected to bat. The Giants lost a wicket early, but a brilliant partnership of 88 runs for the second wicket made the match for them. Both Aaron Finch and Shane Watson scored fantastic half-centuries. As a result, they posted a total of 166 for the loss of eight wickets. Maharajas started well with a brilliant opening partnership of 65 runs. But none of them could really carry it forward. The match got interesting in the end as it went to the very last ball, and India Maharajas lost the game by two runs at the end.
