Preview

Australia will take on Bangladesh in the 43rd game of the ODI World Cup 2023 on Saturday (November 11) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Australia have won six out of eight games and have qualified for the semi-finals. Bangladesh managed to win just two matches out of eight and are currently in the third-last position on the points tally.

Australia faced Afghanistan in their last game. They chased down the target of 292 runs in 46.5 overs. Glenn Maxwell was amazing with the bat and played a historical innings. He made 201 runs off 128 deliveries, helping Australia cross the line despite losing the first seven wickets for just 91 runs. No other Australian batter managed to make more than 25 runs in that game.

Bangladesh faced off against Sri Lanka in their recent match. In the beginning, Bangladesh managed to take the wickets of Kusal Perera for just four runs. Sri Lanka lost two more wickets before they reached 100 runs. Sadeera Samarawickrama contributed 41 runs before he was dismissed. In a surprising turn of events, Angelo Mathews faced a "timed out" dismissal in the 25th over. Sri Lanka's Charith Asalanka played a fine innings, scoring 108 runs, and that helped Sri Lanka reach a total of 279 runs. Tanzim Hasan Shakib was outstanding on his World Cup debut and claimed three wickets.

Bangladesh lost two early wickets, but Shakib Al Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto formed a crucial partnership of 169 runs. Although Angelo Mathews managed to dismiss both of them, it came too late for Sri Lanka. They comfortably achieved the goal of 280 runs with three wickets to spare in 41.1 overs.
