Australia Women (AUS-W) and England Women (ENG-W) are set to lock horns in the Day and Night Test match for the Women’s Ashes 2025 edition, slated to take place from January 30 to February 2, 2025. The one-off Test match is set to be played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which has seen many classic matches being played between the two powerhouses. The game starting on Thursday will also give a chance for each side to showcase their talents in the longest format of the game.
Australia women have won each of the three T20I and ODI matches so far to assert their dominance. Over the last few meetings, the 'Baggy Greens' have got the better of their archrivals to show their superiority in the Test arena as well. The likes of Elyse Perry, Beth Mooney, Annabel Sutherland, and Tahlia McGrath have a huge role to play if the hosts have to win the game.
On the other hand, Heather Knight and her women have been completely outclassed in the recent tour of Australia. The forthcoming Test match will be key for the England team if they have to head back home with their head held high. If England happens to win the Test, they can easily forget the lows of losing all their games previously in the tour.
