Preview
Australia Women (AUS-W) will lock horns with South Africa Women (SA-W) in the first ODI match of the South Africa Women Tour of Australia at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on February 3. Australia Women have been phenomenal in this format of the game recently not losing any of their last five matches, while South Africa has been decent as well winning three of their five matches.
Australia Women had squared off against India Women in their last match where Australia won the toss and elected to bat. The decision was proven absolutely right as the openers slammed a partnership worth 189 runs. They did fumble a little after the first wicket fell but were able to manage themselves as they took the total to a huge total of 338. India started under the immense pressure of chasing down such a huge total and could not perform well. Several batters got starts but none of them could carry forward and lost the game by a whopping 190 runs.
South Africa Women had played against Bangladesh Women in their last encounter where South Africa won the toss and elected to bat. Wolvaardt and Tazmin, the African openers had a gala of a time as they both were striking the ball well and went on ahead to slam their individual centuries respectively. They helped South Africa post a mammoth total of 316 runs in reply of which Bangladesh needed to start well but their batters just could not stay for long. They kept losing wickets and were bowled out for just 100, losing the game by 216 runs.
