Preview
Austria will be fighting against Finland in the 3rd match of the ECI Italy Rome 2023 at the Roma Cricket Ground in Rome on September 23. Austria has not been having too good of a run recently, as they have all their last five games. Finland, although, have been comparatively better, with two wins in their last five matches.
Austria last fought with Scotland, where Austria won the toss and elected to field. Scotland were completely ruthless in their approach as their opener, George Munsey, scored 132 runs in the game. Other batters contributed well too, as Scotland posted a monstrous total of 232 runs. Austria was never in the game after this, but they lost the match badly as they were bowled out for a mere total of 66 runs and could not even play their entire innings.
In their most recent match, Finland had won the toss and chosen to bowl against Sweden. Sweden didn't get off to a great start on the slow, low surface, losing five of their wickets just at the score of 22. Their lower order managed to score a few runs that came in useful for them, bringing their total up to a respectable 96 runs. Finland's response was similarly delayed and unable to get off to a strong start. When the game was tied at the end and a super over was played between the two teams, Finland won by two runs. This is when the game really got intriguing.
