Preview

The Bangladesh cricket team is set to aim for glory as they are scheduled to face South African sides in two matches of the Test series, commencing on October 21. The series opener between these two top-notch sides will take place at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The Bangla Tigers were in red-hot form as they defeated Shan Masood-led Pakistan on away soil earlier this year. However, their winning streak was brought to an end by Team India in their last Test series. Najmul Hossain Shanto and his men will now be aiming to redeem themselves by pulling off an upset against the Proteas side. Bangladesh will be hoping to make the best use of the home conditions and dominate the Proteas in this game to take a 1-0 lead.

On the flip side, the South African side last faced the West Indies in a red-ball in August this year. They won the series by 1-0, thwarting the Windies by 40 runs. However, the side has lost an ODI series against Afghanistan and Ireland and seems to be having a tumultuous time. Notably, Aiden Markram and his men will be eager to put in a classic display in the series opener to challenge the hosts.
