Preview
Bengaluru Blasters will lock horns with Mangalore Dragons in the 18th match of the Maharaja T20 League 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on August 21. Bengaluru Blasters have played five games in which they are yet to win any. They are languishing at the bottom of the table. On the other hand, Mangalore Dragons have played five matches where they have won two and are in the fifth position in the rankings.
Bengaluru Blasters played against Mysore Warriors in their last match, where Bengaluru Blasters won the toss and elected to field. The Warriors lost two wickets rather early and looked in trouble, but Ajit Karthik held the fort from one end and calmed the sea. They had a brilliant finish towards the end and posted a strong total of 185 runs on the board. Blasters were slow and sloppy with their start but managed a small comeback in the middle. However, the game was interrupted by rain, and the Warriors were declared victorious by 33 runs.
Mangalore Dragons had squared off against Gulbarga Mystics in their last encounter, where the Gulbarga Mystics won the toss, and they elected to field. Mangalore did not start as they hoped for and lost multiple wickets. A couple of batters in the middle order scored some useful runs, so the team could score 120 runs. Mystics were not much different from their opponents, but the middle order saved them the match and won it by five wickets with around three overs to spare.
