Preview

The first ODI between Bangladesh Women and India Women is set to take place at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Indian women recently conquered the T20I series 2-1 against Bangladesh. Therefore, Bangladesh Women will be keen to give it back, just like they registered a consolation victory in the 3rd T20I as Indian batters flopped miserably.

Unfortunately, Bangladesh have played just two complete games in their last six ODIs since December 2022, as rain disrupted most of their games. However, they failed to emerge as winners in both games. In December 2022, they batted first against New Zealand to post a total of 180 for the loss of eight wickets on the surface, which aids batters a lot. In response, New Zealand comfortably chased down the targets with the loss of just two wickets. And their most recent ODI was against Sri Lanka, where they collapsed to 128 runs by losing all ten wickets in a low-scoring chase of 187. Their biggest positive is their recent performances in T20Is, played on the same track that Indian batters got exposed for losing eight wickets for 95 runs and nine wickets for 102 runs. Therefore, they will look to dig this hole deeper.

In the three-match ODI series that took place in September 2022, India entirely wiped out the English women. They will probably bat with the same top six players in this series. India have a well-established group, and they will employ spin to take the early lead in this series. Their primary concern is getting back into their batting form on this spinning track, and they will try to overcome this shortcoming.
