Preview
Bangladesh Women will lock horns with India Women in the third ODI match of the India Women Tour of Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on July 22. The teams have played two ODI matches so far in the series, where India and Bangladesh have won a match each. Both the teams would be looking forward to winning this match and, hence clinching the series.
The last match between these two teams was played at the same venue where Bangladesh Women had won the toss and had elected to bowl. On a slow and turning track, India started cautiously. Smriti Mandhana looked good on the crease but could not continue for long. After she fell, the command lay between Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur, and boy they played well. They both notched up their fifties, respectively, while Jemimah missed up on her well-deserved century. India Women managed to put up a decent total of 228 runs on the board.
Bangladesh would have been looking forward to replicating their batting performance from their last game but unfortunately could not do so. They were tottering at 2 for 14 when Fargana Hoque came to the crease and steadied their ship. She played a composed knock of 47 and looked like Bangladesh would be able to cross the line. Devika Vaidya continuing her brilliant run, broke the partnership, and the whole batting line-up were blown away like a house of cards. From being three for 106 to being all-out for just 120, India Women pulled back scores and won the match by a huge margin of 108 runs.
