Preview
Croatia will lock horns with Belgium in the 18th match of the European Cricket Championship at the Cartama Oval in Cartama on September 28. Croatia has not been in too great of a form and has won just one of their last five games. Belgium has been in decent form, although they would want to improve their stats as they have won just two of their previous five matches.
Croatia had played off against Hungary in their last match, where Croatia won the toss and elected to bat. Croatia did not start well as they were neither able to score runs nor keep their wickets. Naseem Khan and Vedran Zanko were the only two players with scores in double digits as they were bowled out for just 63. Hungary lost a couple of early wickets as well, but they kept scoring boundaries at regular intervals and so won the match easily by seven wickets with around 13 overs to spare.
Belgium had played off against Netherlans-XI in their last encounter, where Belgium won the toss and elected to bat. They were off to an aggressive start, trying to make the most of the batting nature of the pitch. Their batters had a brilliant day on the field as they kept smashing bowlers all around the stadium and piled up a huge total of 168 runs on the board. The Netherlands lost a wicket early but had an aggressive approach despite that. However, they could not carry it much forward and were bowled out at 104, losing the match by 64 runs.
