Central Stags (CS) will be hosting giants Canterbury Kings (CTB) in the final of the Ford Trophy 2022-23 at Napier's McLean Park on March 28. Central Stags finished the group stages at the top of the table with six wins from ten games this season to directly qualify for the final. Their last game against Canterbury this season was abandoned due to rain.
Canterbury Kings finished in the second position in the table with four wins from ten games this season. To reach the final, they recorded a big 129-run win over Otago Volts in the Eliminator game. Chad Bowes and Leo Carter scored centuries to post a 350/8 total while batting first, and then skipper Cole McConchie and William O'Rourke took three wickets each to bowl out Otago Volts on just 221 runs.
Both teams will be missing a few notable players, including Chad Bowes, Henry Shipley, and Will Young, to national duties ahead of the mega final.
