Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be hosting Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL) at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, on April 3. The Super Kings lost the opening game against the Titans by five wickets in the season's opener. The star opener Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed 92 off 50 to help the Super Kings score 178/7 while batting first. But the reigning champions managed to chase the target in the last over despite young pacer Rajvardhan Hangargekar taking three wickets for the Super Kings.
Lucknow Super Giants started their campaign with a dominant 50-run win over Delhi Capitals. Debutants Kyle Mayers and Nicholas Pooran shone with a bat as the Super Giants scored 193/6 while batting first. Then another LSG debutant Mark Wood bowled the match-winning spell by taking five wickets for 14, and Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi picked two wickets each to restrict the Capitals to just 143/9.
