The middle-order batters did try and score some runs, but they were quite slow, compensating for the early loss. They could only make 117 runs at the loss of nine wickets by the end of the first innings. On the other hand, Kandy started really well, and their top order looked in great form as they all scored significant runs. B-Love Kandy won the match emphatically with eight wickets and seven overs to spare.
