Delhi Bulls will face Deccan Gladiators in the third match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2023 on Wednesday (November 29) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Deccan Gladiators faced New York Strikers in their last game. The Strikers won the toss and opted to bowl. Tom Kohler-Cadmore opened the innings for the Gladiators and played a spectacular unbeaten innings of 68 runs off 33 deliveries. However, none of the other batters could contribute significantly, and the Gladiators posted 118 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Chamika Karunaratne was the standout bowler for the Strikers, claiming three wickets for 25 runs in two overs. Muhammad Jawadullah and Ali Khan also took one wicket each.
In response, the Strikers had only two batters crossing the 20-run mark. They managed to score 96 runs for the loss of six wickets, falling short by 22 runs, and the Gladiators secured the victory. Zahoor Khan starred with the ball for the Gladiators, taking two wickets for 12 runs in two overs. Trent Boult, Luke Wood, and Mohammad Zahid also chipped in with one wicket each.
Delhi Bulls managed to win two out of seven games last season and finished in fifth place in the points tally. They have been a part of the tournament since 2019 and have made it to the final in two out of the last three seasons. They have made some significant changes in their squad this year. Caribbean batter Rovman Powell has replaced Dwayne Bravo as the captain of the side. Powell led the Northern Warriors last season.
The batting unit has been bolstered with the presence of Rilee Rossouw and James Vince. Quinton de Kock, and Johnson Charles. Sri Lankan all-rounder Dunith Wellalage, who has displayed some great performance in the past few months, has also been included. The pace attack of the team will be led by the Afghani duo of Naveen-ul-Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqi.
