Preview
Delhi Capitals will take on Gujarat Titans in the 7th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Tuesday (April 4) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Capitals lost their opening encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants after failing to chase down the target of 194 runs. The target could have been much smaller if the Capitals had been more attentive in the field. The bowlers also had an off day as each of them conceded runs at an economy of more than 7.5. They conceded just 30 runs in the powerplay but couldn’t manage to maintain the pressure afterwards. Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi will be available for selection for this game, and it will be interesting to see how the playing 11 will shape up.
The Titans won their opening game against the Chennai Super Kings by five wickets after chasing down the target of 179 runs in the last over of the match. Shubman Gill had a great outing with the bat as he scored 63 runs off just 36 deliveries. With the ball, Rashid Khan starred for the Titans as he picked two wickets for 26 runs in four overs and was adjudged the Player of the Match. Kane Williamson suffered a knee injury in the first game and has been ruled out of the tournament. David Miller will be available for selection for this game and might replace Williamson in the playing 11. Apart from this, the Titans will hardly make any changes to the team.
