Preview

Dindigul Dragons will lock horns with Salem Spartans in the 26th match of the TNPL 2023 at the Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli on July 3. Dindigul Dragons have won five of their six matches and are at the second position. Salem Spartans, on the other hand, have won two of their six matches and are seventh in the rankings.

Dindigul Dragons had played against Nellai Royal Kings in their last match where Dindigul Dragons won the toss and elected to field. Being put to bat, they started decently and were going ahead at a healthy rate. Several of their batters got starts but none of them were able to convert those into bigger totals. By the end of the innings, they managed to post 159 runs on the board. Dragons were completely opposite in their results as they had an opening partnership of 117 runs. Although they got a little slower after that, it was just a formality left and Dragons won the match by seven wickets.
Salem Spartans had squared off against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in their last match where IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans won the toss and elected to field. Spartans started horribly losing two wickets just at the score of one run. It was Sunny Sandhu who came to bat at four and took the charge as he scored 61 runs off 44 balls. His innings along with some other cameos helped the team reach 155 runs. Tamizhans had started really well and almost every batters of theirs had got a start but they kept losing wickets regularly which pinched them in the end as they fell short of nine runs.
