Preview

On July 23 at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh, the ninth game of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier will feature Denmark and Germany. Denmark played one game, losing to Ireland in an unfavorable match. Germany have won one of their first two games.

Denmark locked horns with a packed Ireland side in the first game, where they elected to bat after winning the toss. Denmark had a tough day against Ireland's cracking fast bowling, especially Mark Adair and Barry McCarthy, who lit up the day to pick up six wickets together. McCarthy broke the top order and put Denmark on the back foot. No significant contribution from any batter resulted in a collapse of 109 runs. While defending this, Denmark's bowlers were so terrible that they let Ireland seal an emphatic 10-wicket victory. To stay in this competition, they need to register a victory.

In both games, Germany was in a position to chase the target. First against Scotland, where the German bowlers got enough treatment for their poor bowling display, and the opponent batters smashed most of the balls out of the park to register a massive total of 234. In this tough chase, Germany stumbled to 65 runs for the loss of seven wickets. And against Austria, they emulated their previous opponent's performance to haul them for 83 runs and pick up all ten wickets to register a win in this low-scoring chase. However, their middle is their weak link, and Denmark might look to test their skills on this surface.
