Preview
The first game between England and Pakistan was rained out, making the series a three-game affair. It is a key series for both sides as they want to get ready for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which begins in a few days. With the amount of cricket some of the players have played in the IPL, the series will be an added advantage for the hosts, who are also the defending champions.
England (ENG) would have wanted to play all four games to ascertain their players' fitness. Jofra Archer, in particular, will be the focus as the right-arm fast bowler is making his long-awaited return to competitive cricket. The rest of the players have been busy with the IPL and have had match practice for the last two months.
Pakistan (PAK), too, have been playing T20 cricket recently. They still have to name their team for the T20 World Cup, and this game is the last chance for many of the players to show their worth to the team. Babar Azam and the entire Pakistani coaching staff will want to have a closer look at some of the younger players before making a call.
