Preview
After taking an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match Test series, the hosts England are set to take on West Indies in the third and last Test of the series from July 26 onwards. The final fixture of the red-ball series will be played at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. This Test will be crucial for both teams considering their position in the points table of the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.
England are currently in the sixth spot on the points table of the WTC 2023-25, with five wins and six defeats in the 12 matches they have played. The Ben Stokes-led side has now 45 points to their name with a percentage of 31.25. They have won two matches in the last five Tests after facing three consecutive defeats against India on their last tour.
On the other hand, the Caribbean side will be looking ahead to fight for their prestige as they are already placed in the last spot on the points table of the championship. They have won only one game in the last five Tests, alongside three defeats and a drawn game.
