Preview

The 2nd T20I of Women's Ashes between England Women and Australia Women will be played at Kennington Oval in London. Australia Women won the first T20I by six wickets and went 1-0 up in the three-match T20I Series. The first T20I went down the wire, and Australia escaped through it. England Women posted 153/7 on the board with Sophia Dunkley's brilliant knock of 56 runs off 49 balls. Wicketkeeper-batter Amy Jones also scored 40 runs off 29 balls. Jess Jonassen scalped three wickets, while Megan Schutt grabbed two wickets. While defending 154, England Women tried to restrict Australia Women till the very last over. Beth Mooney scored 61 runs off 47 balls and took Australia over the line. Tahlia McGrath's 40(29) and Ashleigh Gardner's 31(23) were important in their successful chase. Sarah Glenn, Lauren Bell, and Sophie Ecclestone picked up two wickets each and tried to control the game till the end. Australia required five runs off the last over, and Annabel Sutherland hit a four on the very first ball of the Ecclestone's over. Sophie then bowled two back-to-back dot deliveries and got the wicket of Sutherland on the fourth ball. But it wasn't enough as new batter Georgia Wareham hit the winning run and took Australia home.
