Essex will take on Hampshire in the 1st Semi-Final of the Vitality Blast 2023. This match will played at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. Essex finished fourth in the points table with seven wins and seven losses in 14 matches. They have played an attack brand of cricket with the bat so far this season. They won the Quarter Final 1 against Warwickshire by 2 wickets. Essex opted to bowl first and restricted the opposition to 167. In reply, they got off to flier in the power play and later chased down the target in the final over. Dan Lawrence was the star with the bat scoring a half century. They will be looking to go all the way this season with the squad they have.
Hampshire were excellent in the group stages finishing second in the table. They beat Worcestershire by 5 wickets in Quarter Final 2. They bowled out Worcestershire for 100 and later chased it down with close to 5 overs to spare. Hampshire have a very strong batting lineup and they will be keen to put up another good performance. This promises to be a thriller between these two sides.
