Preview
Finland will lock horns with Austria in the 9th match of the ECI Italy T10 2023 at the Roma Cricket Ground in Rome on September 24. Finland has played three matches so far, which they have all lost and are at the bottom of the table. Austria, on the other hand, has won two of their three games and is second in the rankings.
Finland had played off against Italy in their last match, where Finland won the toss and elected to bowl. Italy did not start well and had lost two wickets without scoring any runs. But then they had a couple of good knocks, which provided them with their much-needed partnerships and propelled their team’s total to 110 runs. Finland, in reply, did not start too well either and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At one point, they were tottering at six for 14 when they had some good contributions from the lower order, due to which they scored 88 and lost the match by 22 runs.
Austria had played off against Italy in their last encounter, where Italy won the toss and elected to bowl. Austria lost two wickets upfront early in the innings, but Imran Asif stood his ground at one end and smashed bowlers all around the park. Aqib Iqbal provided him with the much-needed partnership from the other end, and they amassed 140 runs. Italy lost a bunch of wickets early, but late fireworks meant they equaled the score, and the match went to Super Over, where Italy won the match.
