Preview
France Women will be up against Scotland Women in the 6th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground in Almeria on September 8. France Women have played two matches and have lost both of them so far, while Scotland Women have played two matches as well where they have won and lost a match each.
France Women had played against Italy Women in their last match, where Italy won the toss and elected to bat. They did not start well with their innings, as they were tottering at 28 for four wickets, but they had a brilliant fifth-wicket partnership to get them back in the game. This helped them put up a good score of 137 runs at the loss of five wickets. In reply, France neither started strongly nor were they able to keep going. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals, due to which they were bowled out for 75 runs and hence lost the match by 62 runs.
Scotland Women had squared off against Netherlands Women in their last match, where Scotland won the toss and elected to field. The Netherlands lost a wicket early but a brilliant second-wicket partnership. On a slow track, they were able to score runs and find boundaries at the right moments. A decent total of 134 runs at the loss of seven wickets were put up on board. Scotland did not have a good day on the field with the bat as they lacked partnerships. None of the players were able to take the lead, which cost them the match as they lost by 35 runs.
