Preview
Germany will lock horns with Czechia in the 1st match of the ECI Germany, Dresden 2023 at the Rugby Cricket Ground in Dresden on August 26. They would be looking forward to making an impact from the start and gaining early momentum.
Germany had played against Estonia in their last match, where Estonia had won the toss and elected to bowl. Germany lost a wicket early and did not start well. The second wicket followed soon, but then the next pair scored runs much faster and did not lose wickets for a reasonable amount of time, pushing the team’s total to an excellent score of 152 runs. Estonia started their chase very aggressively but kept losing wickets. Only three of their batters had scored in double digits, which limited the team to a mere total of 124 and lost the match by 28 runs.
Czechia had played against Greece in their last match, where Czechia had won the toss and elected to bowl. Being put to bat, Greece did not mainly start as they would have hoped for, losing two wickets at the score of 11. Amarpreet Singh, in the middle overs, scored the majority of the runs, making the team reach 85 runs. Czechia had a completely different approach and went all guns blazing right from the start. They lost three wickets in the process but had won the match with 14 balls to spare.
