Preview

Hampshire will lock horns with Sussex in their next encounter in the Vitality Blast at Southampton (The Rose Bowl). Hampshire started the tournament by going all-out for 74 runs, which isn't a perfect way to begin. However, they have played four games and won two, one while chasing a 172 and another by posting a huge total of 214 against Essex. Credit to the batters. In their previous game, they clashed against Essex and batted first. The tournament star, James Vince, is unstoppable as he is in unbelievable form. His ultimate 103 laid the base for a huge total of 215. And a little contribution from Toby Albert helped Hampshire when others in the batting department failed. In their bowling department, in the last night's game, Hampshire started picking up the wickets at regular intervals; there was no space given to rebuild the innings, which is commendable. This turned out to be a one-sided match in Hampshire's favour thanks to Nathan Ellis' three for 10, Scott Currie's three for 21, and Liam Dawson's four for 21.

On the other hand, Sussex is still searching for the combinations at the top and middle order, with multiple changes in the first three games. In their last clash, they bowled first; however, the incomplete spells and unsettled bowling attack saw only a few positive contributions from Tymal Mills, who's been consistent since the first match, who took 2 wickets in this contest, and leg spinner Shadab Khan, who took 3 wickets for 28 runs. Sussex lost the majority of wickets against spinners. At one stage, Sussex were 15 for 4 while chasing, and the only positives were James Coles (35), Tom Clark (31) and Ollie Carter (27), who tried their best to rebuild the innings. Unfortunately, Sussex lost the game, and now they are just below the middle of the points table.
