Preview
Hobart Hurricanes will take on Sydney Thunder in the 29th match of the Big Bash League. This match will be played at Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The previous match between these two sides was abandoned due to rain. Hobart Hurricanes won their previous match against Adelaide Strikers in Hobart on Sunday. They have now won four consecutive matches. Chasing 187 for a win, Hurricanes started well and then a flurry of wickets pegged them back but Tim David with an unbeaten 62 off 28 helped them chase down the target.
Sydney Thunder suffered a defeat against Brisbane Heat in the previous match by five wickets. Thunder were then reduced to 129/7 at one point while batting first but managed to get to 173 which looked like a par score. Thunder bowlers started really well and picked up a few early wickets and maintained the pressure. Heat needed close to 12 runs per over in the last 10 overs but Renshaw and Bryant played spectacular knocks to help Brisbane Heat pick up the win. Sydney Thunder have been hit by a few injuries but they will be welcoming the addition of Sam Konstas for this game who will slot back at the top of the order.
Hobart Hurricanes have four wins in a row and are placed third in the points table with four wins in five matches. On the other hand, Sydney Thunder have four wins in six matches and are second in the table. This should be a closely fought game between these two sides.
